The Discovery Centre is Australia's premier wild dolphin experience. It is a not-for-profit organisation and ecotourism venue located at Koombana Bay Bunbury.
The Bay is home to over 100 wild bottlenose dolphins who often visit the beach in the knee-to-waist deep water. The centre runs year-round Dolphin Eco-Cruises into the bay where you will see the dolphins guaranteed in their natural habitat. From November- April the "Swim with the Dolphins" tour operates daily.
Inside the Marine Discovery and Interpretive Centre tells the story of the region and the dolphin ecosystem, with aquariums, four daily feeding sessions, octopus, rescue turtles, sharks, interactive displays, a 360 dolphinarium, Virtual Reality Sets, theatre and more. The centre provides a unique experience that uses embedded technology along with natural displays to create a memorable experience for visitors that complements the wild dolphin experience of the beach Interaction Zone and Dolphin Tours.
They provide educational activities and field-based learning in marine and environmental studies. These activities include both incursions and excursions and the content within each has been designed to be interactive, entertaining and educational.
