Waringarri Aboriginal Arts is a living, growing art centre celebrating the uniqueness of Miriwoong cultural identity.<br/><br/>Established in the early 1980s, in the heart of Miriwoong country at Kununurra in the Kimberley region of northern Australia. Waringarri is the first wholly indigenous-owned art centre established in Western Australia and one of the oldest continuously operating art centres in Australia supporting economic independence for artists and their community.<br/><br/>Building on a timeless artistic tradition, Waringarri artists express the importance of Country and culture through contemporary art practices. The art centre supports artists as painters, printmakers, wood carvers, boab nut engravers, sculptors, and ceramic and textile artists.<br/><br/>Since 2009, Waringarri Arts has supported and co-managed Kira Kiro Artists, a remote art centre in Kalumburu, the northernmost community in Western Australia.<br/><br/>Waringarri Arts is a not-for-profit organisation, with all proceeds from art sales, art commissions and cultural tourism returned to the community to support the ongoing program of arts and cultural projects.

Yallingup Aboriginal Art is a contemporary Aboriginal art gallery in the heart of Western Australia's Margaret River Region. Dedicated exclusively to authentic Aboriginal art, the gallery ethically represents established and emerging Aboriginal artists from across Australia, including local Noongar artists.<br/><br/>Visitors can discover an ever-evolving collection of original paintings, sculptures and handcrafted works, each sharing a unique story of Country, culture and connection. Representing artists from Western Australia, the Western Desert, Utopia, the APY Lands, Far North Queensland and beyond, the gallery celebrates the remarkable diversity of Aboriginal art and cultural traditions.<br/><br/>More than a gallery, Yallingup Aboriginal Art is a place to learn. Every artwork is accompanied by the story behind the artist and their connection to Country, offering visitors a deeper understanding of the world's oldest continuing living culture while supporting ethical and respectful relationships with Aboriginal artists and communities.

Warmun Art Centre is owned and governed by Gija people with 100 per cent of income returning to the community. Warmun Art Centre works towards an exciting program of events, supported by an energised team of staff. They have exhibitions, a gallery, a studio and a shop.<br/><br/>Teaching and learning remain at the nucleus of Warmun Art Centre and its activities. Warmun Art Centre forms a meeting point between Indigenous people and non-Indigenous visitors to Warmun and the wider community and facilitates productive community and cross-cultural collaboration and learning opportunities about Indigenous voices and experiences and our shared histories in this country. Education programs include language classes, bush trips and a partnership with the University of Melbourne.<br/><br/>Warmun artists are renowned for their use of natural ochre and pigments on canvas, which is integral to the contemporary expression of land and culture as an identity for the Gija people. The work of Warmun artists’ is an inseparable and celebratory part of Gija culture and country, and draws on traditional Ngarranggarni (Dreaming) stories and contemporary life. Warmun art has a national and international reputation thanks to the leadership of highly successful Warmun artists like Rover Thomas and Queenie McKenzie, George Mung Mung and Paddy Jaminji.

“Tjukurba” is translated from Matu to mean “Dreaming”. The gallery provides local artists with the space to dream and embrace creativity.<br/><br/>The Tjukurba Art Gallery is an Aboriginal art gallery in Wiluna, at the start of the Canning Stock Route. It is located within the Canning-Gunbarrel Discovery Centre and provides a rich authentic experience where you have the opportunity to personally meet and chat with artists painting on location in the gallery, who still live a semi traditional lifestyle.<br/><br/>The gallery combines professional and contemporary exhibition spaces with the beautiful historical features of the original, heritage-listed building. Situated on Scotia Street, the gallery has now grown into an important part of the community and displays a wonderful selection of paintings, all locally produced by the Birriliburu, the clan of Martu people specific to this region.

The Laverton Aboriginal Art Gallery is a not-for-profit organisation established to display, promote and sell authentic Aboriginal art on behalf of the people of the Laverton and Western Desert area.<br/><br/>The gallery houses an extensive range of art and is well worth a visit while in Laverton.<br/><br/>There is a wide range of acrylic on canvas paintings, wooden artefacts such as didgeridoos, boomerangs, bowls, digging, tapping and hitting sticks, beads and other locally crafted wooden items.<br/><br/>Hand-dyed silk scarves are a particular feature of the Marlu Kuru Kuru women's artist collective.<br/><br/>Laverton is approximately a 12-hour drive from Perth and a four-hour drive from Kalgoorlie.

Wirnda Barna Art Centre is located in Mount Magnet and managed by the Badimia Land Aboriginal Corporation.<br/><br/>The Wirnda Barna Art Centre supports and represents Aboriginal Artists from Badimia and Wajarri Country based in Mount Magnet and Yalgoo.<br/><br/>Wirnda Barna offers a creative environment in which Artists can meet and work together to share skills and knowledge, connect with their language and culture and generate income through the sale of their visual art.<br/><br/>Artists draw inspiration from the rich landscape, spectacular wildflower season in Spring and important cultural sites of the region including the Granites, Wilgie Mia Aboriginal Ochre Mine, Australia's largest ochre mine and Walga Rock, Western Australia's largest gallery of Aboriginal rock paintings.

Japingka Gallery is located on two floors of a heritage-listed warehouse in Fremantle's historic West End and has over 3,000 Aboriginal artworks from around Australia. Japingka showcases major artists from the Central and Western Desert, Kimberley, Arnhem Land, Northern Queensland and other important art-producing regions. <br/><br/>The directors have worked with Aboriginal artists for over 35 years. Japingka is a member of the Indigenous Art Code and Aboriginal Art Association of Australia, ensuring fair trade and ethical sourcing of artworks. All their artworks are fully documented, including certificate of provenance, artist details and story of the artwork.

Warlayirti Artists is one of Australia’s leading Indigenous art centres, whose artists have a reputation for vibrant colour, bold brush strokes and distinctly individual artworks. <br/><br/>Warlayirti Artists is located in the community of Wirrimanu (Balgo) in the southeast Kimberley on the edge of the Great Sandy and Tanami Deserts, in the Kutjungka region of northern Western Australia. Wirrimanu is the ceremonial hub for several Indigenous clans and is a site for the Luurnpa Tjukurrpa (Kingfisher Dreaming).<br/><br/>Established in 1987, Warlayirti Artists represents more than 200 artists across the three communities in the Kutjungka region – Kururrungka (Billiluna), Mulan and Wirramanu (Balgo). <br/><br/>Warlayirti Artists has some of the best purpose-built facilities in remote Australia. The Warlayirti Art Centre is a dynamic place, functioning as a studio space for artists, as well as a large purpose-built gallery for the display and sale of artworks. The Art Centre is also home to a cultural Keeping Place and archive of national significance.<br/><br/>Contact the Art Centre in advance to arrange your visit and ensure the Art Centre is not closed due to community events.<br/><br/>Please note that the Art Centre is closed during the wet season from the end of November to the beginning of February.
